Additional Chasing Harry Winston: A Novel Information

Meet Tali, Schuyler, and Kim. Best friends since college, each twenty-something (okay, almost thirty) has seen her share of career foils and romantic foibles in the world's greatest city, New York. Having been friends for more than a decade, they know that they all need a change. On Valentine's Day, they are each alone for one reason or another. At dinner together, the trio makes a pact. Within one year, each woman will change the thing that most challenges her.

For Tali, good Tali, whose boyfriend of five years just left her for a personal trainer, it will be to find romance -- or a fling -- in every foreign country she visits (and given her job as a secret shopper for high-end resorts, she goes to a lot of foreign countries). For Schuyler, a book editor, her goal is to get on the other side of the typewriter and write her own book -- much to the dismay of her boyfriend, who is a Very Public Figure. And for commitment-phobic, Daddy's little rich-girl, Kim (she can't hold a job, or a boyfriend, unless he's married and therefore erratic and unattainable) , her goal is to have an engagement ring and a house in Scarsdale.

Each woman starts the first day of the year of reckoning with the best of intentions -- which is exactly why the pact goes immediately, and exceptionally, awry.

Filled with the delicious insider details (of a celebrity-level (or celebrity-wannabe) lifestyle), Chasing Harry Winston brings listeners once again into the heart of an elite world, where friendships will be tested to the point of breaking.

Let the games begin.

What Customers Say About Chasing Harry Winston: A Novel:

Just say no to this disappointing follow-up to Devil. Ridiculously boring, silly, and lacking depth.

It's excellent story telling with relatable characters. Lighten up and enjoy the ride. I really enjoyed both "Devil Wears Prada" and "Chasing Harry Winston." Chasing Harry Winston is a great book and a fun read. This is not supposed to be a serious, mind-altering book. It's great fun. I tend to lean towards classics or mystery books, but this was a light-hearted, engaging story that at times was funny, heart-warming and human. I honestly can't wait for the movie.

I never did get invested heavily in the girls and the one character who intrigued me (Jesse) was barely fleshed out. It's not that the story line wasn't intriguing but did we have to be reminded in every chapter that the three main characters were going through their 30 year old crisis. The city of New York naturally is a character all its own and I enjoyed the descriptions and placement of the storylines in and around the city.Wait until you can buy it used. For her third book, I felt Lauren Weisberger slipped back in her literary talent a bit. I couldn't put the first two down but I kept getting distracted on this one.

I felt compelled to write a review, even though once I was on this site, I see there are many others. I hated this book, and was sorry I bought it. I actually wanted something bad to happen to her. The character Adriana is particularly irritating.

I am single, in my 30s and live in Manhattan. I still wanted to add mine to the mix.Dont buy, borrow or read this book. I was in an airport and needed to pass the time and I ended up buying this and regretted it. I could not find one redeeming quality for any of these characters.

I think the author was trying to emulate a Sex and the City type of character and ended up creating someone who you could care less about. You will regret the wasted hours. They are shallow, selfish and not worth caring about. I ended up skimming after reading halfway through it.

It read like it could be a movie starring the current Hollywood it-girls. Sure the women are shallow and the storyline is predictable, but this isn't supposed to be award winning writing, is it. Get it from the library. I guess this is what is going for chick-lit these days, and if so, well, I enjoyed the story. There certainly is no depth to the story; just your average story of three 20-somethings who make a pact to change the course of their lives.
